iReasoning Free Rust SNMP Agent

A self-contained, multithreaded SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 agent for macOS, with built-in MIB-II, IF-MIB, IP-MIB, Host Resources, USM, and VACM providers.

Safe first-run configuration

The installer registers and starts a system launch daemon configured for:

Address: 0.0.0.0 (all IPv4 interfaces)
UDP port: 161
Protocol: SNMPv2c
System sysObjectID: automatic (.1.3.6.1.4.1.15145.1.3 on macOS; blank config = auto)
SNMPv1/v2c read community: public
SNMPv1/v2c write community: disabled
SNMPv3 default group: default_group with read-only access

Agent: /usr/local/libexec/ireasoning-snmp-agent
Uninstaller: /usr/local/share/ireasoning-snmp-agent/uninstall.sh
Configuration: /Library/Application Support/iReasoning/Rust SNMP Agent/SnmpAgent.xml
Logs: /Library/Logs/iReasoning/Rust SNMP Agent/

Before production use Replace the example community. For SNMPv3 first installs, provide auth and privacy passwords so the installer can create default_user. If another SNMP daemon already uses UDP port 161, stop it or select a different port before starting this agent.
